Finger Lakes National Forest

Biking

Some choose to bike the entire 78 mile loop of moderate terrain around the entire lake, but if you want to keep it local, the area has lots to offer in rural roadways. In the Finger Lakes National Forest, non-motorized off-road vehicles, such as mountain bikes, are limited to trails and forest service roads specifically signed open to mountain bikes and vehicular travel. Bicycle use is specifically prohibited on these trails: Finger Lakes Trail (North Country National Scenic Trail), Gorge Trail, Potomac Trail, Ravine Trail, Southslope Trail and the southern portion of the Interloken Trail.

Mountain Biking

Many of the trails open for Mountain Biking pass through pastures. Please make sure you close gates behind you as there may be wandering cows!
